Delivery of quality higher education atop State~run priorities of Kotli, Mirpur Varsities: VC Prof :Dr. Younis

MIRPUR  (AJK) (Parliament Times): “State~run  University of Kotli (UoK) is fully determined to deliver quality education in conducive environment of research & innovation to reach to the apex of academic excellence, said Brig. (Retd) Prof. Dr.  Muhammad Younus Javed (Sitara-i-Imtiaz Military), former Vice Chancellor University of Kotli (UoK) and sitting Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur AJ&K.

Addressing the farewell ceremony hosted in his honour by Koi university on the eve  on his departure from the office, as newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rehmat Ali Khan resumed the office for next stipulated tenure of five years in the office.

According to the details unveils to the media  Hafeez Bin Mustafa, Public Relations Officer MUST, Mirpur AJ&K, University of Kotli (UoK) hosted farewell to out-going Vice Chancellor, Brigadier Younus Javed Sitara-i-Imtiaz Military for his towering & unfaltering contribution, which would leave indelible mark on the history of UoK.

In recognition of magnanimous & abounding services University of Kotli (UoK) hosted a farewell ceremony in the honour of it’s out-going Vice Chancellor, Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed Sitara-i-Imtiaz Military. Country’s distinguished & renowned Professor was given charge of Vice Chancellor University of Kotli (UoK) on September 26, 2022 in recognition of his outstanding contribution in leading engineering fields while representing Pakistan as International evaluator and owing to his decades long meritorious services for the growth, uplift and development of education system of Pakistan and State of Jammu and Kashmir.

The farewell ceremony was held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1030 hours in multipurpose Hall of University of Kotli (UoK). Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Uok, Prof. Dr. Rehmat Ali Khan, Deans of Faculties, Principal Officers, Head of Departments, Faculty Members and Administrative Staff participated in the event to pay respect and honour the services of Brigadier Younus Javed. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, Registrar UoK commended and lauded the visionary leadership of Brigadier Younus Javed, former Vice Chancellor UoK / Vice Chancellor MUST under which UoK accomplished various milestones. 

While expressing his views on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed extended thanks to the management of the University of Kotli (UoK) for organising farewell ceremony in his honour. He further said that he remained in extensive travelling during past four months, compromised personal engagements in effort to address all academic, administrative & governing matters of both state-run Universities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Uok and MUST, Mirpur AJ&K). With all dedication, utmost efforts and best of his abilities, he worked for the uplift of University of Kotli (UoK) he added.It is noteworthy to mention here that Brigadier Younus Javed remained HoD of Computer Engineering Department of NUST College of E&ME for 12 years and Dean for four years from 2011 to 2015, before his appointment as Vice Chancellor of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur on June 25, 2021 for tenure of five years (05), he served HITEC University Taxila as Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology and later he was appointed Vice Chancellor of HITEC University.
