Lahore: Chairperson Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Sara Ahmed participated as a special guest in the consultation workshop organized regarding the important priorities and rolling work plan for the protection of children in Punjab today at a pearl continental hotel. This consultation workshop was organized by UNICEF Pakistan. in which Chief Child Protection Program UNICEF Pakistan Daniela Lushini, Program Officer UNICEF Zahida Manzoor, representatives of NGOs and others participated. The workshop discussed important priorities for child protection.
On this occasion, Chairperson Sara Ahmed informed the participants about the measures taken for the protection of children. She said that special measures have been taken by the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau for the protection of children, in which violence and abuse of children have been done. Public awareness campaign is also included to prevent incidents. She further said that the Child Protection Bureau is taking custody of the children who are victims of violence and abuse and providing protection. We have to play our role by all stakeholders to provide protection to the children so that Punjab emerges as a child-friendly province.
