ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that the Muslim Ummah should unite and raise their voice for Kashmiris. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has helped the Kashmiri people at every stage and supported their right to self-determination for which they are grateful.OIC Secretary General Hussain Ibrahim Taha has reiterated his support to Kashmiris in clear and unambiguous words, which has boosted the morale of Kashmiris fighting in the freedom movement. India has flouted human rights in occupied Kashmir and the Indian Army has made the lives of Kashmiris miserable through cruel laws.
Without a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue and according to the wishes of Kashmiris, peace in the region will remain a dream. Islamic countries should play their important role in stopping large-scale atrocities in occupied Kashmir and giving the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination. Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan expressed these views while talking to OIC Secretary General Hussain Taha Ibrahim, who met him along with a delegation at Jammu and Kashmir House Islamabad. On this occasion, Chief Minister Guilgit-Baltistan Dr. Khalid Khurshid, Minister of Finance and Inland Revenue Abdul Majid Khan, Ambassador Yusuf Al-Zoubi, Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Askar Muzinov, Ambassador Ahmed Sarir, Maldives, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to OIC, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Mansoor Diop, Senegal, Waqas Latif, Muhammad Atif, Aliu Hama Hamani, Principal Secretary Ehsan Khalid Kayani and others were also present. Islamic countries should be the voice of Kashmiris and use their influence to give them the right of self-determination.He said that pressure should be increased on the United Nations from every platform of OIC to implement its resolutions to solve this long-standing problem. It is like a body, if one part hurts, the whole body suffers. So, Muslim countries should openly support us.He said that Western countries have made laws for the protection of wildlife, but where are their think tanks for Kashmiris? He said that if a referendum can be held in Sudan, then there should be a referendum in Kashmir. Hussain Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said that a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue is the first priority of the OIC and our duty.We want to reach a final conclusion in cooperation with friendly countries. We want to open the channel of discussion between all stakeholders on the Kashmir issue so that this issue can be resolved through diplomacy, we will convey the voice of Kashmiris to the Islamic world and the international community. The community will also be taken on board in this regard.Kashmir is a part of the OIC and it is our responsibility to resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully and according to the wishes of the Kashmiris. He said that the world needs to be told more about human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.He said that as a representative of Islamic countries, it is our responsibility to highlight the Kashmir issue and solve it. A documentary on Kashmir was also shown to the OIC Secretary General and his delegation In which the atrocities of the Indian army were mentioned. Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also gave gifts of Kashmiri shawls and Kashmiri handicrafts to OIC Secretary General Hussain Ibrahim Taha and his delegation.
