    FWC will organize a Punjab level Conference and exhibition – ‘Punjab Original’, next year

    FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FWCC) will organize a Punjab level Conference and exhibition – ‘Punjab Original’, next year in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Regional Office Faisalabad for women-led businesses to venture for exports, said Mrs. Rubina Amjad, President FWCCI. She was talking to media after a meeting held with Ms. Fareeha Khan, Director TDAP, Faisalabad Region here today.

    Introducing FWCCI she said that t FWCCI has 200 members from different business sectors of the city including Textiles, home textile, fashion garments Packaging Industry, Beauty Parlors, Hosiery, Rice, Furniture, Construction and information technology/Digital marketing.

    She appreciated role of TDAP in enhancing trade and exports of Pakistan. She said TDAP Regional Office has the key role to enhance international trade from Faisalabad. She informed that at FWCCI there is full fledge Standing Committee on ‘Trade & Export Development/Delegations’. In my Roadmap, I have prioritized to send maximum women entrepreneurs trade delegations abroad on subsidized rates with the material support of TDAP, she added. In this context, we will also need help of Pakistan trade Missions abroad. She requested to help out FWCCI for participation of FWCCI in foreign Trade Delegations, allocation of stalls to FWCCI on Zero/subsidized rate and 50% rebate on exhibition goods in trade fairs organized by TDAP. She also requested for organizing Single country exhibitions in traditional and non-traditional markets abroad in collaboration with TDAP.

    Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Fareeha Khan, Director TDAP, Faisalabad Region said that trade fairs calendar is finalized for current year. However, FWCCI might forward its proposal for holding Conference/Exhibition and they will facilitate/recommend to the hgher authorities to subsidize the cost. She proposed that FWCCI women entrepreneurs might participate in the forthcoming TEXPO Karachi and WEXNET that will help them to venture for exports. She said that FWCCI women entrepreneurs could book stalls in such EXPOS jointly to share their cost. She also proposed that women entrepreneurs should develop their website properly to upgrade profile of their businesses. She said that TDAP could organize an awareness session to help out for export.

    Regarding helping out FWCCI women delegations, she said that women business should have capacity to export, She said that TDAP could organize B2B meetings. She said that there is 30 percent participation quota for women in the trade delegations but they must fulfill the requirements in this context.

    Mr. Fazal Rao, Deputy Director, Hafiz Kamran, Assistant Director also provided guidance to the meeting participants.
    The meeting was participated by Ms. Tasghera Tajammal, SVP, Ms. Sobia Aqeel.Chairperson S/C on Trade and Export Development, Ms. Nimra Rahim, Ms. Rabia Saeed and others at the occasion.
