Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times): The business community of Azad Kashmir has welcomed the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s special credit schemes designed to promote the socio-economic development of the State and announcement for setting up a business policy in collaboration with the business community. The bank has provided loans worth more than Rs 3 billion to the customers under these schemes. Prominent trade union leader Mr. Shaukat Nawaz Mir and others said that AJK Finance Minister Khan Abdul Majid Khan who is also the Chairman of the BAJK along with Mr. Khawar Saeed, President and Chief Executive Officer while inaugurating the loan campaign said that the bank has launched more than a dozen loan products based on very low markup and easy installments for the convenience of customers in line with the vision of the Government of Azad Kashmir.
These schemes include Advance Salary, Tourism Development, Public Health, Gold Loan, Household Items, construction of Guest Houses and Homes, Car, Motorcycle purchase, Commercial and Consumer Loans like Small and large Business Promotion. The business community of the state while appreciating the schemes of the bank declares that fully cooperate with the bank as these credit schemes will help in boosting trade activities in the state. Traders said that this is the first time that a bank has not only announced the establishment of a business policy together with the business community, but the suggestions of the business representatives have been given importance, which is a welcome gesture. He suggested the businessmen community that they take advantage of the campaign launched by the bank and play due role in the development of this region. The business community of the state appreciates the move to withhold increase in the interest rate of BAJK until next year.
