Political parties should avoid defaming journalistic organizations and journalists for achieving political goals. CPNE
KARACHI, (Parliament Times): Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has expressed serious concern over defamation of journalistic institutions and journalists by political parties and their leaders to achieve their political goals. CPNE President Kazim Khan has said on the issue of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan linking some journalists, including senior journalist Hamid Mir, to the Wazirabad incident without investigation, that every authentic journalist is the most important in the race for news. It is an honor to be the first to report. The above mentioned journalists released the news only after confirmation from their sources, which is an excess to associate with any conspiracy or nexus, which CPNE strongly condemns.
