Ignorance of Existence

In our day to day gatherings, meetings or speeches, Everyone of us used to initiate the proceedings by saying Hello! “Ladies & gentlemen”, Hi! “Ladies & gentlemen” and Assalam Alaikum “Ladies & gentlemen”. Society like Pakistan where rights of minority are in serious danger, violation of women rights become normal, No executiontion of basic Human rights and protection of children rights turning into worst. Furthermore, third gender community remain badly deprived of rights in Pakistan. They usually got harassed, abused, ignored and tortured by society. Transgenders had faced discrimination in every area of life which includes right of identity, reserved quota, Education and health. Although, Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018 assured their above said rights, But unfortunately no practical execution of these rights observed. Recently, I invited for “women convention” celebrated on 12th August at national assembly. It happens first time in history where women from all corners of society including disabled persons and transgenders were invited to sit on the floor of house, which is applaudable step. Transgender representative named Babli was called for speech, Whole house turn out amazed when she started session with words “Haziren-i-Mehfil (Respected participants)” instead of “Ladies and gentlemen” because according to babli transgenders are not included in ladies and gentlemen. Obviously, it was moment of shame for all house, We as a society violating their rights over period of time but now we are denying their existence. She taught lesson of humanity and equality, transgender is a creation but we ignored their existence. They have right to life and society has to accept their existence.
