    Foundation University Islamabad holds Convocation 2022 for DPT& PRN BSN Graduates

    ISLAMABAD,   (Parliament Times) : The Convocation 2022 of DPT Graduate Batches Spring 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and PRN BSN Spring 2019, Spring 2020 of the Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) was held at Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH) on October 07, 2022. Maj Gen Prof Dr. Aamer Ikram HI(M) SI(M) (R) Executive Director National Institute of Health Sciences, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Maj Gen Nasir Dilawar Shah HI(M) (R), Rector FUI and Maj Gen Imran Fazal HI(M) (R), Director Foundation University School of Health Sciences, were also present on the occasion. A total of 139 degrees were awarded. 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 4 best graduate, 5 certificates of distinction and 19 merit certificates were awarded.
    Director Foundation University School of Health Sciences presented the annual report and stated that Foundation University College of Physical Therapy (FUCP) has been excelling in the field of rehabilitation sciences since its inception and he is proud to see the them progressing. He allso admired the untiring efforts parents put behind the students’ success. He further said that FUCP has set a benchmark for quality education in Pakistan and is pioneer institute to provide paid house jobs. The college has recently launched Master of Science in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy program duly recognized by Higher Education Commission in 2021 and is also working to broaden its horizon by launching Master of Science in Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy and Neuromuscular Physical Therapy by 2023 and Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Therapy by 2025. He added that FUCP is the only institute in Pakistan which has the honour of having 11 PhD scholars and by 2025 it will have 12 PhDs as faculty members. The institute is currently in the process of acquiring membership from the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT) to enhance its international standing.
    The Chief Guest, Maj Gen Prof Dr. Aamer Ikram HI(M) SI(M) (R) Executive Director NIH in his address said that convocation is indeed one of the most memorable days in the life of a student and he extended his cordial greetings, applauded the hardwork and efforts of students and also acknowledged the quality of education they received during their time at FUI. He said that the future lies on our youth and health care they will provide to our patients. He emphasized on how big of a change the graduates can bring to society and advised them to never be afraid of facing challenges. In the end, Rector FUI presented University plaque to the Chief Guest.
