Provincial Ombudsman Punjab meets Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman

Lahore:  Provincial Ombudsman Punjab Major (Rtd) Azam Suleman called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman at Governor House Lahore today. During the meeting, Major (Retd) Azam Suleman presented the annual report to the Governor of Punjab. The Provincial Ombudsman , while giving briefing to the Governor of Punjab, said that in the year 2020-21, financial relief of 880.851 million was given to the complainants, while state land of 17480 kanals costing 985 million was retrieved from the illegal occupants. Governor Punjab upheld 99% of the decisions of the provincial ombudsman in appeals against the decisions of the provincial ombudsman.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that the forum of Provincial Ombudsman is an affordable means of resolving complaints and providing justice for the people. He appreciated the digitization initiative in the Office of the Provincial Ombudsman . He said that the availability of decision of the provincial ombudsman in Urdu language is a big facility for the general public.

On this occasion, Provincial Ombudsman Punjab Major (Rtd) Azam Sulaiman said that mobile application of Ombudsman Punjab is available in English and Urdu for the public. He further said that overseas Pakistanis are also being given relief as per the law in the matter of land grabbing.
