PCB Chief urges fans to give Babar Azam some ‘space’

LAHORE:  Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja on Wednesday urged the fans and supporters to back the all-format captain Babar Azam.
“This team played Asia Cup final, beat India so they should be given some time. Bad performance in one or two matches should be given away,” Raja said.
Recently, Babar has been targeted for maintaining a low strike rate along with failing to perform in the recently concluded Asia Cup.
“I used to tell Babar Azam, fans’ memory is too weak. You have to win matches every time to keep them intact,” he said.
Pakistan lost the opening T20I to England by six wickets and failed to capitalize on the splendid start provided by Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam; the opening duo added 99 runs to the total with Rizwan managing 68 whereas Babar scored 31.
