Violent protest against awarding of contracts to MS Pak Gulf Company by PRAC

Muzaffarabad, (Liaquat Basheer Farooqui) : Chairman, Protection of Rights Action Committee, Saran, Pir Chinasi, Syed Yasir Naqvi Advocate, led by Young Contractors Association, political, social, commercial public elites, MS Pak Gulf Company for construction works on public roads in Saran Pir Chinasi. Violent protest against the awarding of contracts and the occupation of livestock pastures. The atmosphere of the capital echoed with the slogans of the protestors. The protestors also took out a rally to the Old Secretariat to Burhan Wani Shahid Chowk. The participants of the rally carried colorful placards. There were various slogans written on them. The participants were chanting slogans of our land is our right, the occupation of public places is not accepted and the occupation of our wives is not accepted. Syed Faizan Naqvi Advocate, Raja Amir Zafar, Bidar Naqvi Advocate, Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir Study Circle Central Secretary General Majid Awan, Sajjadan Nashin Darbar Pir Chinasi Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah aka Pappo Pir, Nadeem Mumtaz Mir, Raja Abdul Basit, Zulfiqar Salhariya, Iftikhar Abbasi, Syed Aftab Hussain Naqvi, Chaudhry Saleem Sagar Advocate and others spoke. The speakers said in their address that the present government has failed to keep in touch with the people. We want to see construction, development and tourism grow, but under the guise of tourism, at tourist places. The occupation is not acceptable in any case. He said that awarding the contract to MS Pak Gulf Company is tantamount to disrespecting the abilities of state contractors and humiliating them. How can it be that in the presence of highly qualified engineers, foreign qualified architects and contractors from Pakistan and foreign countries who have proven their skills, other companies come from outside and work. Livestocks have been reared. Today, our illegal consultation and occupation of these lands is a complete injustice. The government should come to its senses.
