Geneva (PR) : Kashmiri delegation led by senior APHC leader Altaf Hussain Wani while seeking world community’s urgent attention towards the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir has said that it was high time that the world should take effective notice of India’s settler colonialism policies and its malicious attempts of Palestinising Kashmir through demographic and political engineering.
During a meeting with OIC permanent representative Ambassador Naseema Baghi and counsellor Salima Delibey, the Kashmiri delegates while referring to rising tides of communalism and xenophobia within the Indian society and its devastating impacts on Kashmir said that the growing Hindu extremism and terrorism powered by Modi’sfascist ideology had adversely affected the situation in Kashmir.
The RSS influenced regime, they said, was now hell bent on changing the entire nomenclature of Kashmir, its history, geographical and political landscape, ethno-religious composition, cultural ethos and above all its distinctive identity.
In order to bring material change in the disputed territory, the delegates gave a detailed briefing as how the Indian government was trying to bring demographic shift to change Muslim majority into a minority. “The ongoing slow-motion genocide of Kashmiri Muslims at the hands of Indian forces, granting domiciles
to non-Kashmiris and getting them settled in the state, disempowerment and marginalization of majority community are amongst the wildly abhorrent and illegal practices the BJP government has been practicing in Kashmir to achieve its long-held dream to turn Muslims majority into a minority”, they said, adding that Indian government’s malicious attempt of Palestinising Kashmir through demographic and political engineering was highly condemnable.
About the continued bloodshed and violence in Kashmir, they said that it was a matter of serious concern that Kashmiri as a race was at the brink of extinction.
Seeking Muslim body’s urgent attention towards the Indian government’s decision to grant voting rights of non-Kashmiris temporary residing in Kashmir, the delegation said that the apartheid regime after changing the region’s special status was now conspiring to bring Hindu Chief Minister in the state to give a legal cover to its 5th August illegal action.
The delegation urged the OIC officials to take effective notice of the matter and hold the Indian government accountable for the crimes it has been committing in Kashmir.
Those who were part of the delegation included Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Ms Shamim Shawl, Advocate Parvaiz Shah, Dr. Waleed Rasool, and Advocate Nida.
