Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : In an effort to strengthen peace and tolerance at universities, a two member team from Fatima Jinnah Women University, which included Mr. Azhar Shahbaz Khan, Chair Peace & Assistance Professor and Ms.
Sidra Aftab, Admin Officer participated in a 2 Day Training Session for Faculty and University Administration organized by Shaoor Foundation for Education & Awareness (SFEA) under its PACT for Tolerance project at Islamabad. The event
was organized in collaboration with National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and Paigham-e-Pakistan. The event was participated by male & female senior faculty members and administration staff from 17 public sector universities of Punjab.
The participants of the training were capacitated on concepts like intolerance, inclusivity and bringing peace at university campuses and practical ways of dealing with such phenomenon. The trainers include prominent religious scholar and author of research papers Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Nadeem, peace and tolerance expert Dr. Munazza Yaqoob, Executive Director Critical Thinking Forum International Islamic University, Islamabad, Raja Shoaib Akbar, Program Director Shaoor Foundation and Mr. Shahzad Iqbal, program lead PACT. Dr. Muhammad
Zia ul Haq D. G Islamic Research Institute (IRI) Paigham e Pakistan also participated in the event and shared their role in bringing peace in Pakistani society.
