HUB: Flood affected families are still in need of assistance. The federal and provincial governments are using all resources to rehabilitate the victims. We are personally trying
our best to reach as many flood victims as possible with safe shelter and food items as well as other essential items. These views were expressed by Central Vice President of Balochistan Awami Party and focal person for flood victims Government of Balochistan Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri on the occasion of distribution of ration and other essential items to the flood victims in Hub. She said that the United Nations Secretary
General Antonio Guterres’s visit to Pakistan and his kindness & sympathy to the flood victims and his good wishes for the people of Pakistan are commendable.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri while talking to the media on this occasion said that we along with the government missionaries personally for the sympathy of our people and immediate rehabilitation and will continue to serve with heart and soul. Our effort is to provide tents, food and drink items as well as necessary medicines and medical aid to deal with the diseases that arise after the flood in the severely affected areas. Efforts are
being made to reach the flood victims in the areas and for immediate rehabilitation.
She added that the whole world knows that Pakistan is going through a difficult period and Pakistan needs a large amount of money along with necessary relief goods to repair the large-scale damage caused by the floods and there is a need for relief goods for which the international community should actively assist Pakistan to restore life in the areas affected by the devastating rains and floods in Pakistan. added that the climate Pakistan is not responsible for the changes, but developed countries, while Pakistan is directly affected by environmental pollution.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that severe climate change is a big challenge for the whole world, but Pakistan is having more negative effects of this change which Pakistan
is dealing with on its own. All countries must deal with the challenges of severe climate change together. Natural disasters cannot be resisted, but steps can be taken to deal with
climate change. If effective measures are not taken to deal with climate change, the loss of the future may be the big loss than of today much more than what neither Pakistan nor any other country in the world can afford. She appealed to the international community to help Pakistan in this difficulty and come forward. The world should not be left alone until the flood victims in Pakistan are rehabilitated.
She said that rapid industrial development in developed countries has polluted the environment. Pollution due to industries has greatly increased the temperature of the planet; glaciers are melting rapidly causing floods. This pollution spreading across the planet is having a direct impact on Pakistan which is a serious problem. There is a problem and Pakistan is also facing the situation resulting from the effects of this pollution, although Pakistan is not responsible for this environmental pollution, but it is a victim of pollution created by other countries.
She assured the flood victims that Balochistan’s all people are our own and we will not leave them alone in this difficult time and as far as possible we will continue the relief activities in the affected areas along with the help of Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force and
Civil Administration. Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that now we have to be serious to avoid heavy rains and floods and to avoid this natural calamity floods, we have to make serious efforts to build important dams keeping aside all kinds of political
differences. So that our future generations can be protected from the effects of these disasters and can be protected from the disasters of floods in the event of severe climate change expected in the future.
