LAHORE: As many as 20 commuters are reported to have burnt alive and 6 others injured in Bus and oil tanker collision on Multan-Sukkar motorway.
According to motorway police spokesperson bus caught fire soon after collision occurred and Motorway M-5 was closed soon after the incident.
On information local police,Rescue-1122 and respective officers rushed to the scene while the rescue teams started extinguishing fire.
Motorway police set up Emergency Crisis centre under the directives of IG Police Khalid Mehmood.
As per initial information motorway police pulled out some people out of blazing bus. There were at least 25 on board the bus. The rescue teams took hours in extinguishing the fire.
The eye witnesses said that the fire was so immense that its flames were seen rising up from the distance of miles upon miles.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the bus accident..
He expressed condolence with the bereaved families, prayed for the high ranks of the departed souls.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured ones.
