This book, first published in 1959, is a self-help book by David J. Schwartz. The book was one of Simon & Schuster’s all-time best sellers and has sold over 6 million copies. The author was a professor at Georgia State University, Atlanta, and considered a leading American authority on motivation. He is best known for his motivational publications and self-help books, particularly The Magic of Thinking Big. It instructs people to set their goals high and think positively to achieve them. The author provides a step-by-step guide on how to get what you want by changing your thought patterns and thinking habits. He explains that imagination adds value to everything and that thinking big means training yourself to see not just what is, but what could be. He explains that delivering good news is a win, and we feel better and so do the people we’re talking to. Lou Holtz mentioned that the book helped him list his lifelong goals. Making better decisions and avoiding negative thoughts is the main theme of the book. In this book, the author is repeatedly emphasize to believe in yourself, when you believe in yourself, everything in the world will be possible for you, nothing will be impossible. Self-confidence will lead you to success. The author writes, Two years ago, a young man asked me to help me get a good job and thus improve my future. That young man was a clerk in a company but his salary was very low. was I talked to this young man for a while and checked his previous record, I complimented him and said that you will get a really good job because you value responsibility but I want the job. It requires a college degree. You can get this degree in two years but you will need the desired job. The young man said, I think that college education can help me get a good job, but now it is not possible for me to go to college. Not possible? I asked in surprise, he started saying, I am now four years old. Maybe it is impossible for me. In fact, the young man had understood that his college education was over for him now, so I said to him: If you believe that you can go to college or university again, maybe a solution will come. Keep in mind that you can go back to college, maybe that will clear your mind. You believe that you can do this and with that you can also fulfill the responsibility of supporting your family well. You come after two weeks and then tell me what you have done in so many days. The young man came after two weeks and told me that I thought a lot about what you said and finally decided that I will definitely go. I have analyzed it and found a solution for it. He tried and got a degree from college. He managed to get a scholarship from a trade union association. With this stipend he pays his tuition fees and buys a dog etc. He also continued his job and went to college and his wife helped him a lot in this process. The husband and wife balance their budget. He also kept his distance and reached the destination with his creativity. After getting his degree, he got a job of his choice. One thing is clear here that believing in yourself is the guarantee of success. All the steps to reach success are discussed in this book, which will surely be very useful for every reader. I personally think that this book can be a gold brick for every reader, provided that after reading it, Action should also be taken.
