LONDON, (Parliament Times) : Jammu & Kashmir Peoples National Alliance Chief Raja Zulfiqar Ahmed Advocate reiterated his party’s stance that internationally-recognised disputed Jammu and Kashmir State is an inalienable entity and no power on earth could resort to any harm to this entity through any alteration defying international norms and commitments especially the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir issue.
Addressing his part’s activists and other overseas Kashmiris just after arriving at Heathrow International airport late Friday, veteran Kashmiri leader and the JK PNA Chairman Raja Zulfiqar Ahmed Advocate strongly apposed the proposed 15th amendment in the Interim constitution 1974 of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, says a message reaching and released to the media here on Saturday.
Our Special AJK Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports that Raja announced that his party has launched AJK-wide mass-contact campaign against the proposed 15th amendment in the interim constitution of Azad Jammu Kashmir 1974, proposed formation of the Tourism Zone Authority and the recent imposition of, what he called, undue heavy taxes along the electricity bills in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
He continued that any move to disintegrate the globally-recognized disputed Jammu and Kashmir state would be strongly resisted by the Jammu Kashmir people living both sides of the line of control – Azad Jammu Kashmir and Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir besides rest of the world.
Raja, also a renowned legal expert and former President of District Bar Association Mirpur, that the Interim constitution 1974 of Azad Jammu & Kashmir was formally named and announced through the 13th amendment in the constitution in year 2018 through the transfer of the due powers to the AJK government by the government of Pakistan.
Zulfiqar Ahmed Raja Advocate continued as saying that the pressure tactics were afoot to get 15th amendment introduced in the interim constitution 1974 of AJK primarily for, what he alleged, the withdrawal of the given powers from the AJK government besides finishing the world “State” in the constitution, he blamed.
“We strongly condemn this hostile reported initiative of introducing the 15th amendment in the interim constitution of AJK”, the JKPNA chief said strongly suggesting to the government of Pakistan to refrain from initiating any such action as contradictory to the basis spirit of the United Nations resolutions of the core issue of Jammu & Kashmir, he added. He said “the federal law minister should take care of the gravity of the prevailing regional situation of the Jammu & Kashmir state especially in the back-drop of the August 5, 2019, sinister, unilateral Indian nefarious action of abrogating article 370 of the Indian constitution to scrap special status of the internationally-acknowledged disputed Indian occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir”.
Zulfiqar Ahmed Raja Advocate maintained as saying ‘’the governments of India and Pakistan can not skip off their due global responsibilities viz a viz Jammu & Kashmir struggle for freedom, by devising and promulgating the ordinances”, he added.
Elaborating his view point by categorically condemning and opposing the arrival of the expected 15th amendment, the JKPNA Chairman alleged that an attempt was once again being made to revive the most infamous forum – the Azad Jammu Kashmir Council by raising its seats to 65 and shifting back the powers from the AJK government to the AJK Council, which, he alleged, had been involved in the financial ill-discipline of billions of rupees in the past.
The JKPNA Chairman said that Jammu & Kashmir State was not a real estate that could be easily disintegrated and disbursed through any sort of alternation.
The Kashmiri leader reiterated that the people of Jammu & Kashmir State would never ever allow the turning of the Line of Control (LoC) into international border as India was already involved in such sinister move since its nefarious August 05, 2019 action of scrapping the special status of the disputed Jammu Kashmir state through abrogation of article 370 and 35-A of her own constitution, he added.
Raja Zulfiqar Ahmed said that PNA would strongly resist the proposed 15th amendment to be move in Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly – since, he alleged, the proposed amendment involve the attempt to transfer series of powers including the financial powers from Azad Jammu Kashmir government to Azad Jammu Kashmir Council – for its being the brain child of certain vested monetary interests of political and bureaucratic elite, he blamed.
The PNA Chairman observed that the proposed 15th amendment could also prove to be harmful to the unity and entity of the globally-acknowledged disputed Jammu Kashmir State. He called upon the authors of the proposed 15th amendment to immediate dissolve the plan of launching the 15th amendment in view of the most critical situation of the Kashmir issue which, he declared, has reached at the most crucial conditions because of the fast emerging aggressive Indian designs of expansionism and continual violations of international norms and commitments in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir State, he underlined
