Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : More than 1,000 traffic police personnel will be on special duty to make Muharram-e-Haram peaceful, while the routes leading to Majlis and processions will be closed for all types of traffic and alternative routes will be provided.
Director Media Relations told “Parliament Times” that the traffic police has taken revolutionary measures to provide facilities to the citizens in the past. On the instructions of the CTO Naveed Irshad the traffic police will divert the traffic on alternative routes in collaboration with the district police during the majlis and processions. Instructions were issued to all circle in-charges and traffic officials that vehicles and motorcycles should be parked at a distance of 500 yards during the processions and meetings.
And in case of ban on double riding, it should be fully implemented. Full action should be taken against vehicles without number plates, motorcycles and black paper during Muharram. Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Naveed Irshad inspected the venue and the route of the processions and also met people of different schools of thought and issued orders for their immediate solution on identifying the problems.
