Joint efforts required to prevent erosion of roads: Commissioner Sahiwal

Sahiwal, (Bureau Report) :Commissioner Sahiwal’s emergency visit to Qutb Shahana, inspection of the erosion site of Ravi river, all resources should be used to stop the erosion of the river, Commissioner’s directive. According to the details, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Salut Saeed made an emergency visit to Qutb Shahana and made a detailed inspection of the erosion site of Ravi River. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Khizr Afzal Chaudhry and Chief Engineer Irrigation Rana Muhammad Afzal were also present. Axin LBDC Umar Abrar gave a detailed briefing to the Commissioner regarding erosion. On this occasion, Commissioner Sahiwal Salut Saeed said that measures to protect the Sahiwal Faisalabad road from erosion should be accelerated and the sides of the road should be made stronger by placing stones. He also directed the irrigation department and the highway department to take joint measures to prevent erosion. Commissioner Sahiwal Division Salut Saeed also met the residents of the area and assured to take all possible steps to stop the erosion of the river. He said that it is the responsibility of the administration to protect the lives and property of the people of the villages adjacent to the river and all resources are being utilized for this purpose.
