ISLAMABAD: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has extended his full support to the Indian star batsman Virat Kohli, as the latter is failing to regain his lost form.
Former India captain Virat Kohli has been going through a prolonged lean patch and has not hit a century since 2019. After missing the first ODI against England with a groin injury, Kohli made just 16 in the second match, which India lost by 100 runs at Lord’s. It means the right-hander has now gone 77 consecutive international innings without reaching three figures, after scores of 1 and 11 in the T20I series and failures in the rescheduled fifth Test.
“This too shall pass. Stay strong,” said Babar Azam in a tweet on Thursday, mentioning Virat’s name in the tweet and posting a picture of him with Kohli.
Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta was all praises for the Pakistan skipper for showing the good gesture. “Babar you are a hero,” Gupta wrote in his tweet, re-tweeting Babar.
Cricket fraternity from all over the world and the Sub continent are loving Babar Azam’s gesture. “We love you from India. It is really very pleasing that you are supporting Kohli,” a fan replied to Babar’s tweet.
