Mumbai, (Parliament Times): According to global Times Media Europe Report, Abolish “Guwahati Surcharge” on Electricity Tariff – AAP Navi Mumbai. It is incomprehensible that the electricity tariff has been increased within two days after the new government came to power in the Maharashtra Assembly. On the one hand, Aam Aadmi Party, a staunchly honest government, running on the basis of zero corruption, is giving relief to the common people from inflation by providing 200 units of electricity in Delhi and 300 units in Punjab free of cost, while the rest of the state governments are exploiting the common man by continuously increasing unjustified tariffs.
In response to appeal by AAP Maharashtra managing body, AAP protests in more than 50 places across the state against power tariff hike. From this month, domestic electricity consumers will be hit by a 20 per cent hike. This is a big shock to the general public, who are already suffering from inflation due to rising electricity bills, petrol and gas cylinder prices during the lockdown period.
The AAP Maharashtra State Committee had on Wednesday, July 13, appealed to the committees in all the 28 districts of the state, at the district and taluka level, to protest against the power tariff hike, protest to the administration and hold a peaceful protest in front of the offices. In response to this call, local teams in 50 places across the state successfully carried out the agitation.
Team Navi Mumbai also successfully carried out the agitation near MSEDCL’s electricity bill payment center at Airoli, and a humble statement was given to Mane sir, Superintendent Officer, MSEDCL Headquarters. Vashi. Airoli, Digha, Ghansoli, Koparkhairane, Vashi and Nerul team workers were present in large numbers on this occasion. Questions were being raised as to whether this new rate hike is the reimbursement of, tremendous expenses of five-star hotel in Guwahati for the MLAs and chartered airplanes, for current power transition in Maharashtra. And weather, the pocket of the common man is being pinched for the same.
In today’s statement AAP demanded that, the state should immediately withdraw the 10 to 20% surcharge on electricity rates from July 1, 2022. The Aam Aadmi Party demanded that CAG audit of power companies should be done and at least 200 units of electricity should be provided to the people of the state free of cost like the Delhi and Punjab governments.
