ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the order on sacking chairman Council for Islamic Ideology (CII) Qibla Ayaz as member of Board of Governors of Islamic International University (IIU) and has reinstated him on the said post.
The case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq here Thursday.
Barrister Umar Ijaz Gilani appeared on behalf of Dr Qibla Ayaz in the court. He told the court the3 power for dismissing board of governors lie only with only the president of Pakistan as per law. The two years service tenure is protected by law.
He told the court while arguing that the job of board of governors is only to hold the administration accountable. How can the administration suspend member of board of governors.
The court while issuing notice on the petition of Dr Qibal Ayaz against the decision of Islamic university adjourned the hearing of the case till July 07.
It may be mentioned Dr Qibla Ayaz was member of board of governors of Islamic International university and university administration had sacked him.
