Lahore: A delegation of trainee officers of Punjab Local Government Academy Lala Musa led by Director Local Government Academy Najeeb Aslam called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman at Governor House Lahore today. During the meeting, various issues including training of officers were discussed.
Talking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman said that devolution of power to lower levels and provision of basic amenities to the people is the top priority of the present government. He said that steps have been taken for the empowerment of the people at the grass root level. He said that the PML-N government has also increased the representation of women in the new local government system. He said that the institution of local government is important for every government. He said that local government institutions play important role in the development of the country. Emphasizing the need for improvement in public service delivery, the Governor Punjab said that the role of local government department in raising public awareness about health and sanitation in rural and urban areas is of special importance.
Director Local Government Academy Najeeb Aslam in a briefing to the Governor Punjab said that high quality training facilities in Punjab Local Government Academy have significantly improved the departmental performance. He said that the courses have been tailored to meet the modern requirements. He said that so far hundreds of training courses for local government and community development officers have been successfully completed at Lala Musa Training Academy in which they have been trained in all the matters to help them in field service so that they will be able to serve the community in a better way.
On this occasion, a souvenir was presented to the Governor of Punjab by Director Local Government Training Academy Lala Musa Mian Najib Aslam. Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman gave a shield to Mian Najeeb Aslam for his excellent services.
