LAHORE: To highlight the Kashmir issue and release of Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader Yasin Malik and other Kashmiris, the “All Parties Task Force” has been set up. Former Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar will be the chairman of the task force while in the task force representatives of all political parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, PML-N, PPP, Muslim Conference, and Jamaat-e-Islami are also included. The task force has demanded from the government of Pakistan to immediately provide a diplomatic passport to Yasin Malik’s wife, Mushaal Mullick, and nominate her as a special envoy for Kashmiri Human Rights. According to a statement issued by the All Parties Task Force, the chairman of the All Parties Task Force will be the Former Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar while other members include Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood and PML-Q Federal Minister Chaudhry Salek Hussain, JUI (F) Secretary General Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, PML-N Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, wife of Kashmiri Leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Mullick, Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider, Leader of Opposition in the Senate from Tehreek-e-Insaaf Dr. Shahzad Waseem, Jamaat-e-Islami Vice President Amir Liaquat Baluch, Pakistani Awami Tehreek Secretary General Khurram Nawaz, MQM member of Parliament Kishwar Zuhra, ex-deputy speaker AJK Shah Ghulam Qadr, PPP Central Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi and Nadeem Afzal Chan, President Muslim Conference Azad Kashmir Sardar Atiq Ahmed, Leader of Opposition Azad Kashmir Assembly Chaudhry Yaseen, and Rafiq Dar of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. A statement issued after the meeting of the task force stated that the All Parties Task Force consulted and set out future strategies on the issues of raising voices for the release of Yasin Malik and other Kashmiri prisoners all over the world, including the United Kingdom, to highlight the issue of Kashmir and to present the facts to the world for the freedom of Kashmiri prisoners. The task force strongly condemned the arrests of other Kashmiris, including Yasin Malik, and the sentences meted out to them by Indian courts, and called on human rights organizations, including the United Nations, to put diplomatic pressure on India to release all prisoners, including Yasin Malik and to halt the ongoing atrocities on Kashmiris immediately. The statement further said that the task force comprising all political and religious parties of Pakistan will also liaise with the European Union and British members of parliament and international human rights organizations. We demand that the government of Pakistan should give a diplomatic passport immediately to Hurriyat Leader Yasin Malik’s wife Mushaal Mullick and the government should appoint her as a special envoy for Kashmiri Human Rights so that she can easily travel abroad for the release of Yasin Malik and other Kashmiris. According to the statement, the All Parties Task Force will meet every fortnight to move forward with the steps taken for the restoration of the rights of Kashmiris and future strategies will be set. While the Task Force strongly condemned the firing on Indian Muslims protesting against the blasphemy of the Prophet (PBUH) in India and demanded that the Indian government must take stern action against those responsible for blasphemy and not only remove them from office but also apologize to Muslims around the world for blasphemy.
