FAISALQBAD, (Mian Rashid Asghar) : An environment will be created in the private industrial, commercial and business establishments of Faisalabad in which women can play their active and active role in the national economy without any fear or danger. This was stated by Atif Munir Sheikh, President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry while addressing the launching ceremony of Women Workers Alliance and Joint Working Group of the Chamber. He said that for the comprehensive, systematic and integrated development of Faisalabad, modern industrial areas are being developed on scientific basis under the auspices of Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company. The M3 Industrial City currently has more than 65 foreign-invested industrial enterprises, and is expected to grow to more than 150 by 2023-25. He said that although the export units required adherence to international treaties, conventions and protocols for labor and women incentives, the Faisalabad Chamber was striving to create an environment in local industries in which industrialists voluntarily provided basic facilities to women. And they in these institutions Feel completely safe. He said that the complaints of women being paid less than men have been fully addressed while separate toilets and other such facilities are being provided to women and they are being gradually increased. He appreciated the role of Faisalabad Chamber in this regard and said that at his request, the former Governor SBP had directed all commercial banks to give priority to women in disbursement of concessional loans. He particularly mentioned the promotion of e-commerce under which in the present environment women can start decent employment from home. He said that in this regard, at least one or two awareness sessions on e-commerce are held every month in Faisalabad Chamber in which experts from Amazon and Alibaba also participate. She said that she had also participated in the Round Table Conference organized by Women Workers Alliance in Islamabad after which she had taken special measures to increase the number of women in the industrial workforce. He also urged to provide them core facilities for women.
He said that now a joint working group has been formed with Faisalabad Chamber and Women Workers Alliance to make joint efforts in this regard. On this occasion, Salman Khawaja and the organization about women’s market access Project Coordinator Muhammad Kamran also addressed the function while the Chief Executive Officer of Sudhar gave a presentation on the Women’s Workers Alliance and their future plans. Finally, senior member of the chamber Rashid Munir thanked the guests while President Atif Munir Sheikh presented honorary shield of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Salman Khawaja.
