Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain alongwith Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Dr. Ahsan Iqbal co-chaired a high level meeting at ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training to discuss National Currilum and its related issues.
Considering the significance of the uniform curriculum, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain has advised to call National Curriculum Summit in which all stakeholders and curriculum experts across the country from public to private sector must participate to give their input for wider consensus building on the matter.
Federal Education Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain also advised to prepare a PC-1 for state of the art Teachers Training Centre, equipped with latest facilities and fulfilling all the requirements of public and private sector to train the teachers with latest standards and practices. He also stressed the need of nationwide assessment system at Federal level to evaluate the outcomes of educational policies implementation across the country.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Dr. Ahsan Iqbal said that he was the brainchild of four education related projects in previous PML-N government namely Curriculum Reforms, Exam Reforms, Madrassa Reforms and state of the art Teachers Training centre. He assured the full support of Planning ministry for substantive education related projects to uplift public sector education system in accordance with the modern requirements.
Earlier, both the federal ministers received detailed briefing on 2017 National Curriculum Framework, 2017 draft education policy and also Single National Curriculum and the targets achieved by the last government.
