ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of delay in completion of Peshawar Morr to New Islamabad International Airport Metro Bus project has said this is money of the nation and there is no justification in delaying this project. .
He made the remarks during a visit to the Metro Bus Service in Islamabad on Thursday morning where he was briefed by the CDA and NHA officials about the project.
Shehbaz Sharif said the metro bus service should have the facility for the passengers to carry luggage. He also directed to establish a metro bus station on the motorway.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed that the metro bus service is immediately being commenced from Saturday after taking fifteen buses from Punjab Metro Bus Authority. He was further informed that buses for this project will reach by 5th of May
Spokesperson of PML (N) Marryium Aurangzeb said PM Shahbaz Sharif reached Peshawar Morr metro bus in the morning on Thursday to review the ongoing work on Islamabad metro bus.
PM said that the project was started during Nawaz Sharif tenure in 2017 and it was to be completed in 2018.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to ply free metro bus service for commuters during the holy month of Ramadan ul Mubarak.
PM has directed CDA to run metro bus service from Peshawar road to airport on April 16 (Saturday).
PM also directed to work out feasibility report to run metro bus service from Bahra Kahu and Rawat to Peshawar morr and motorway connection forthwith, she added.
