FAISALABAD: Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar inaugurated the “Ch. Sarwar Biodiversity Park” by planting a tree at Government College Women’s University New Campus Khurrianwala under the Clean and Green Program of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and so far 10,000 plants have been planted.
The Members of Assembly Latif Nazar, Firdous Rai, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rubina Farooq, Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Kashif Raza Awan, Assistant Commissioner Jaranwala Ahmed Saeed Manj, Divisional Forest Officers Wajihuddin, Muhammad Ali Butt, Faculty Members and students were also present there.
The Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said that promotion of the tree planting is the most significant and is the need of the hour and it is also an honor to participate in the grand planting campaign at GC Women New Campus.
He appreciated and thanked the university administration for naming the park after him. He said that the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has given priority to tree planting and in this regard one billion saplings are being planted across the province.
He said that GC Women’s University was playing a leading role in combating climate change and planting fruit and flowering plants in the vicinity of this new campus would not only enhance the natural beauty but also benefits the he birds and animals.
He urged the other universities to follow the example of GC Women’s University Faisalabad in which the participation of every class is mandatory.
The Governor Punjab said and quoted that planting trees is a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Muhammad PBUH said that those who plant and nurture trees will be rewarded.
Congratulations to the Vice Chancellor of GC.,he said that he has never tried to bring politics in the university and teaching Quran with translation in the universities of Punjab is underway that is a great achievement.
He said that the recommendations are only for the incompetents and they have appointed Vice Chancellors of universities on merit and now the universities of Punjab are joining the world rankings. The Vice Chancellor thanked the Governor of Punjab for inaugurating the park. She said that on the 400 acres of land, the construction of women University Campus where it is progressing at a fast pace.
She thanked the faculty members of the university, district administration and forest department officials for their full support in making the plantation campaign successful.
