Muzaffarabad: A rally to raise demand of self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and condemn Indian atrocities by the 48th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Countries was organized under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat on Tuesday.
According to details, a large number of people rallied from Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk to draw attention to the deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the worst human rights violations.
Kashmiri protesters at the rally carried banners and placards with slogans from OIC member states to play a practical role in establishing an independent referendum in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and to increase diplomatic pressure on the Indian government.
Participants in the rally were chanting slogans against the Indian government and their armed forces who have Illegally Occupied the state.
“Wake Up Wake Up OIC Wake Up”, was the main slogan of the protestors.
Speakers on the occasion said that the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Islamic countries being held in Islamabad would be a good omen for the solution of the problems faced by the oppressed and subjugated states of the Muslim Ummah besides the oppressed states of Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan.
The speakers said many Muslim states are united against Anti-Islam forces and usurping powers, they should also raise voice for Muslims in IIOJ&K when India has caged 1.5 crore Muslims through 900,000 armed forces.
“India has not only violated International rules and regulations but also tried to destroy the identity of the internationally recognized disputed state”, speakers maintained.
They said, “the followers of Hindutva ideology in India have unveiled a long-term global conspiracy plan against Islam and Muslims.”
“In these circumstances, the Kashmiri people demand that the OIC should play its effective role in establishing a just right to self-determination in Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions passed by the United Nations”, they added.
The speakers further said that it is the constitutional and religious responsibility of the OIC not only to condemn the atrocities committed by the Indian government and forces against the Muslims inside occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also to stop trade, diplomatic and economic relations with India.
They appealed to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and other influential Muslim countries to defend the independence of the Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir, which was destroyed by India.
The rally was led by Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Shaukat Javed Mir, Usman Ali Hashim, Bilal Ahmad Farooqui, Ali Abdullah, Liaquat Ali Rana, Muhammad Riaz and others.
