Lahore: Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Imran Sikander Baloch chaired 240th meeting of Provincial Quality Control Board Punjab (PQCB). Additional Secretary Drugs Control Muhammad Sohail, chief drugs controller Punjab Azhar Jamal Saleemi, secretary PQCB, Shafique Khan, Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Sajid Bashir, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamshed, Prof. Dr. Shehnaz Akhtar, Prof. Dr. Uzair, Dr. Imran Ashraf and Dr. Muneeb Ashraf were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting 118 under process cases of drugs were heard by the board. Out of which 67 cases were related to drugs while 51 were for appeal for re-testing. The board approved to direct 36 of 51 re-testing cases to NIH. 26 cases were directed to drug courts, in 9 cases final warning was issued while in 1 case product specification inspection was recommended. Secy P&SHD said that “We strive to provide best quality drugs to the public which can save the lives of people. And that is the motto of the board. The board is instructed to carry out strict measures to ensure that the drugs available in the market are up to the national and international standards. Health of general public is our top priority.”
