The peaceful protest of “Aurat March” on 8th March faced extremism through media persons . Ladies and gents both participated on this annual protest held on international women day demanding rights for women. However, the expression of extremism revealed when Pakistani media mainly and indirectly criticized the clothing of females ignoring all other issues for what Aurat March is conducted. It is disappointing to see that the thinking capacity of our natives is bounded to merely and only clothing. Besides, they always showed contempt on their clothes through Islam but even Islam gives an individual to choose in everything including clothes. An individual has the choice to follow or not to follow a concept or obligation of religion, culture, group etc. Ironically, there are many men who do not offer prayer except on Friday afternoon. Prayer; which is an obligation and first thing that one will be asked in grave and day of judgement according to Islam. In comparison of prayer, clothing is ranked almost last question to be asked about. But here no one condemns those males. Thus, this proves how our nationals directly or indirectly find ways to trap women inorder to stop them from having the right of objection. Our country has more important issues then women wearing clothes against religion. And it should be noted that religion says one to follow it’s concepts only when one is his/herself ready and religion does not motivate one to scorn others choices . If really the men in this country are concerned with Islam they should not only focus or criticize females clothing but try to make a safe and equal environment for females. Same goes for the journalists and media persons.
