Kotli, (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has said that a comprehensive policy to ensure uniform development all across the liberated territory.
Addressing a function at a local hotel in the southern district headquarter, the AJK PM said that under the LoC relief package, the dilapidated roads near the ceasefire line would be constructed to improve travelling facilities. Referring to a host of newly planned and on-going development schemes the AJK premier said, “Now that big-city status has been formally granted to Kotli, work on the Ring Road project and water supply schemes would be put on fast track to ensure and improve water supply”. “Roads and water supply schemes worth over 1-billion rupees will be launched in the city and its suburbs to provide better living facilities to the common masses”, he added.
Regarding the recently signed MoU, the PM said the government of AJK will get an additional revenue of Rs. 12 billion per annum after the cost of water usage charges has been fixed at Rs.1.10 in the light of recent agreement. This huge chunk of money, he said would be spent on the development of the state.About the persisting political and human rights situation in the Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the PM Niazi said that since August 05, 2019 the BJP government had turned IoK into military garrison. He said that the PTI government would utilize all its resources to highlight the plight of Kashmiris at international level to expose India’s ugly face. Stressing the need for early and amicable solution of the Kashmir dispute, the PM said that prolonged military occupation of Kashmir by the Indian state poses a serious threat to the region’s peace, and security. Referring to the current situation on the LoC, he said, “If Indian troops resort to bombing and shelling on the LoC then Pak army won’t remain silent”, he said adding that Pakistan armed forces were protectors of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical boundaries.He said that the PTI under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan was committed to the development of the region. He said that all available resources would be used for the welfare of the people. He said that the dream of progress and prosperity in country could only be materialized under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He also praised the Pak PM for raising the plight of Kashmiris at all world platforms.He also appreciated the AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry’s role in highlighting the Kashmir issue at international level.
