    Carbon emission causes loss of export business: FCCI President

    FAISALABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will organize a “Renewable Energy Seminar & Expo” in the local marquee on Monday March 7, 2022.

    Mr. Atif Munir Sheikh, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) said that Pakistan has been facing a double edge challenge of high cost of energy and environmental Deterioration. He said that costly energy results in high cost of doing business that leads to adverse competitiveness in the global markets. He said that carbon emission by our industrial sector not only pollutes the environment but also causes loss of export business due to sanctions by environment protection agencies. He said that in these circumstances the use of renewable energy has become inevitable and hence SBP has been organizing this seminar and expo to give information about a wide range of renewable energy resources with necessary facilitation by the financial institutions. He said that the object of the expois to disseminate information regarding financing opportunities for SMEs, presentation of SBP’s Refinance Schemes for renewable energy, presentation by commercial banks regarding required documentation, display of bank’s products at their respective stalls, registration of existing and potential SMEs and other prospect beneficiaries of renewable energy in addition to encouraging the SMEs to avail the financing for renewable energy. He said that this expo cum seminar would be participated by SBP, regional heads of different banks and financial institutions, SMEs heads and other dealing staff from banks of this region and potential SMEs along with renewable solution providers and vendors.
