ISLAMABAD:   Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to manufacture slow pitches for the coming home series against Australia, it emerged Friday.
According to media reports, players have started practicing for the all-eyed Australia series at the National Stadium Karachi.
Media reports quoted PCB officials as saying that slow and spinning pitches can ensure true benefit of ‘home series’. Fast and bouncy pitches may trap our own players.
Media reports quoted sources as saying that leggie Yasir Shah’s fitness was a point of concern for team management. Pakistan’s spin attack carries Sajid Khan, Nauman Ali and Zahid Mehmood but Yasir will play pivotal role in trapping world class Ausie batters.
Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Imam-ul-Haq, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan and Saud Shakeel were seen practicing at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Center of National Stadium Karachi.
The series is set to begin with inaugural test match from March 4 to March 8 at Rawalpindi Stadium.
