His courage, however, demonstrated such savagery would backfire, and intensify the Kashmiri resistance.
Maqbool Bhat’s and Guru’s struggle for their motherland inspired countless Kashmiris to persist in the struggle for right of self?determination. The vision of both the leaders for IIOJK did not die with their martyrdom . They gave a lesson to the generations to come that it is very hard but only choice to accept martyrdom instead of Indian slavery.
He lamented that Indian government did not hand over the bodies of the two prominent martyrs to their families but buried them secretly in Tihar Jail to violate the basic burial rights.
“Kashmiri youth idealise their heroes and are still fighting the toughest war in the history of the world against the Indian occupation and thousands of Kashmiri people are being imprisoned”, he added.
Chairman J&KSM Altaf Bhat said that Kashmiris will observe martyrs days of Guru and Mabqool Bhat with the determination and commitment to carry forward the mission of their martyrs till independence from illegal Indian occupation that consumed more than one lakh innocent people of IIOJK so far.
