MIRPUR [AJK}, (Parliament Times) : Weather experts on Friday predicted widespread snow and rainfall of moderate intensity in various top mountainous areas and plains in Azad Jammu and Kashmir during January 4 and 6 with main activity on 5 and 6 January.
They said “heavy snowfall is expected at some upper reaches including Neelam and Leepa valley during January 5 and 6, which may affect surface traffic.
He said that today, weather is generally cloudy in Mirpur and hazy in northern areas of the State metropolis and as per today’s analysis, widespread snow and rain spell of moderate intensity is most likely during 4-6th January in the liberated territory with main activity on 5-6th.
“Heavy snow is expected at some top mountainous places of Neelam and Leepa vallies. during 5-6th, which may affect road traffic. Light snow is also expected over higher reaches of Bagh and Rawalakot districts during January 3 and 4, the weather experts said.
They also predicted colder days and warmer nights from Jan. 3 onwards with 70 percent chances of occurrence.
