Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the 37th edition of the PCB Podcast where skipper Babar Azam termed India’s defeat at the hands of the Pakistan Cricket Team in the T20 World Cup as the most important and memorable moment of the year 2021.
Babar Azam who led green shirts in all formats of cricket played some of the most memorable cricket in recent cricket history. Babar-XI defeated the Kohli-XI literally putting a final nail in the coffin of Virat Kholi’s captaincy from the T20 format along with other factors involved behind his sudden removal as skipper.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar said “I cannot explain the moment when we won the match against India. I just thought while playing that I should forget the past and focus on the match.”
Babar said, “It’s not a matter how you start but it is a matter how you finish it.”
Citing the recent series win against Bangladesh and West Indies and his teams’ performance in the T20 World Cup he said shirts finished the year on an outstanding performance.
He said, “In every match we tried to create an impact and put our best efforts to win it. There was different Man of the Match in each game showing the players performance throughout the year.”
Babar said Pakistan Cricket team learnt from the defeat in the World Cup semi-final match.
He said it was good the way Rizwan and Shaheen performed and even youngsters—Dahani, Abdullah and Muhammad Waseem—are putting their effort to make an impact.
