Press Foundation AJK: Shehzad Khan wins election for the Board of Governors


RAWALPINDI,(Parliament Times) : Voting for one seat from Rawalpindi / Islamabad has been completed in connection with the election of members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Press Foundation Board of Governors. In the elections to be held on Thursday in the liaison office of the Information Department in Rawalpindi, Assistant Director Information Khawaja Imran-ul-Haq served as Presiding Officer and Nasir Latif Raja as Assistant Presiding Officer. While Khawaja Rauf Ahmed, Rizwan Ahmed and Kamran Khawaja assisted. Out of the total 55 members, 51 exercised the franchise. According to unofficial results, Shehzad Khan got 29 votes and Zahid Akbar Abbasi got 19 votes. 3 votes rejected. According to unofficial results, Shehzad Khan won the Islamabad / Rawalpindi seat by getting 29 votes. Senior journalists from Rawalpindi and Islamabad took an active part in the polling process. All the candidates expressed satisfaction over the polling process and election results and thanked Chief Election Commissioner Information and IT Midhat Shehzad and DG Information Raja Azhar Iqbal.
