LAHORE: Punjab Bait-ul-Maal held a function at a local hotel to celebrate the Christmas festivities in participation with differently-abled persons and deserving persons belonging to religious minorities. Provincial Minister for Human Rights Ejaz Alam Augustine, Chairman Punjab Bait-ul-Maal Malik Azam, Yudestar Chauhan MPA and others were also present. The minister distributed wheelchairs, bed sheets and cash among the needy.
Addressing the function, the minister said the government was committed to serving humanity while Punjab Bait-ul-Maal considered service to the people as its priority agenda. Different religions have taught peace and love to their followers; however, there is a need to jointly work to eradicate intolerance. The religious minorities celebrate their festivals with fervor as all are equal before the law, he concluded.
A Christmas cake was also cut.
