ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Sheikh Rashid has said government is not going to suspend mobile phone service in Islamabad due to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers conference.
“ there will be local holiday on Saturday and Sunday while cabinet will decide about holiday on Monday”, he said this while talking to media men here in Safe City Office Friday.
OIC conference is going to take place in the history of Pakistan after 41 years under Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. Delegations and foreign ministers of 57 member countries of OIC are coming to Pakistan to attend this conference.
We had held conference on Afghanistan issue 40 years back, he indicated. The Afghanistan situation is giving rise to humanitarian problems and OIC conference will play constructive role in this regard.
He told the media men that there would be local holiday on Saturday and Sunday and the cabinet will decide about the Monday holiday.
He stated that interior ministry, chief commissioner and police have decided not to suspend mobile service.
We regret if any inconvenience is caused to people in their movement in main red zone during these three days, he added.
