LAHORE: On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the government has started taking practical measures for the rescue air ambulance project in Punjab as the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance & Development has given the approval to include the Air Rescue Service project in the annual development program 2021-22.
Usman Buzdar said that Rs 1.16 billion has been allocated for this project. Rescue Air Ambulance will make possible access to remote and difficult areas of Punjab during any untoward situation and patients will get the fastest rescue facility. This project will also help to protect precious human lives during any emergency. He assured that this project will start in the current fiscal year. He termed the Air Ambulance Service a project of public interest that will be completed as soon as possible. Punjab will get the pride to start South Asia’s first rescue air ambulance, he reiterated.
