MIRPUR,(Parliament Times) : Deputy Inspector General of Police Chaudhry Sajjad Hussain and SSP Kamran Ali while addressing an emergency press conference said that the dead body of 13-year-old Kanwal Matloob, who went missing from Dadyal Kathar on November 08, was recovered from the forest at 2.30 pm last night. Meanwhile, Moin Sahib, son of Bashir Qaum Awan, resident of Chak No. 274, Jaranwala, Faisalabad has been arrested and further investigation is underway. They said that when an attempt was made to get information about the incident from the people who were monitored during the interrogation, there was fear among the people due to which the police had to face difficulties in finding the girl. They said that the police team used various methods including CCTV cameras, police radar, geofencing and using modern manuscripts and modern methods of interrogation.
The team worked day and night and arrested the accused. We are sorry that we were not able to rescue the girl alive. However, the police have tried their best to arrest the accused involved in the incident. Explaining the details of the incident, DIG said that Kanwal Matloob went to the market to fetch vegetables for her house at around 4 pm on November 08 and when she reached home by 8 pm, her brother lodged a report of the incident at the police station at 9.30 pm. Later, news of the girl’s disappearance came on print and social media. In this regard, SSP Kamran Ali and I went to Dadial several times and formed a police team led by DSP Chaudhry Ansar Ali which included Inspector Muhammad Naseer, Inspector Sikandar Azam and Mehtab Khan who started day and night efforts to find the girl. In the meantime, the police monitored about 19,000 people passing through the Radar Pras area and also checked the CCTV cameras. He said that during the interrogation, the accused objected that he had taken the girl to the forest for rape. After which the accused killed the girl for shouting and calling her home and fled to Faisalabad himself.
He further directed to expedite the process of registration of tenants after the incident and appreciated the performance of the investigation team DSP Ansar Ali Chaudhry, Inspector Naseer, Sikandar Azam and Mehtab.
