LAHORE: On the direction of Ombudsman Punjab Major (r) Azam Suleman Khan, WASA has been directed to prepare a feasibility report for changing the sewerage line of Jamia Masjid Allah Tawwakal of China Scheme in Lahore and submit the same to the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab by November 29.

According to details, Muhammad Yusuf, a resident of China Scheme, requested the ombudsman office that the people of the area have been facing sewage problem for the last several months. As a result, the approach to the local mosque has become difficult and mosque-goers find it difficult to make it to the Masjid to offer prayers.

According to the applicant, SDO Gujjarpura and WASA Lahore have been informed about this several times but no progress has been made towards resolving the issue. The sewerage line of Jamia Masjid Allah Tawwakal should be replaced, he demanded.

On the orders of Ombudsman Azam Suleman Khan, consultant ombudsman office Mian Mohsin Rasheed visited Gujjarpura China Scheme where XEN, SDO and their staff were summoned on the spot and the sewerage line was cleaned.

The locals have thanked the Ombudsman Punjab Azam Suleman Khan for this action.
