Lahore: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that getting the right to vote for overseas Pakistanis is a victory of democracy and constitution. The decision of the Azad Kashmir government to give voting right to overseas Pakistanis is also welcomed. He was talking to Naveed Anwar, an overseas Pakistani from the United States, and others at the Governor House Lahore.
During the meeting, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that when PTI Government came to power, Pakistan was on the brink of bankruptcy, but the PTI Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, through its successful economic policies, not only saved the country from economic bankruptcy but also steered it out of economic crisis and put it on the path to success, adding that now all international organizations are recognizing Pakistan’s economic development .
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government is providing relief to the people through Ehsas program and other schemes to deal with issues like inflation. Providing basic amenities including health and education to the people is the top priority of the government for which the federal and Punjab governments are mobilizing all resources. He said that the PTI Government will not only save the people from problems but also ensure the development and prosperity of the country, adding that the country has been put on the road to progress and prosperity.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan always makes the impossible possible and the PTI Government has fulfilled its promise of giving voting right to the overseas Pakistanis. He said that the Overseas Commission is working in the Center and Punjab to solve the problems of Overseas Pakistanis. He said that the Overseas Pakistanis have played an exemplary role for the economic development and stability of Pakistan, adding that we will never leave overseas Pakistanis in any case and ensure the protection of their lives and property.
Later , Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar strongly condemned the arrest of Khurram Pervez, a human rights representative in Kashmir, by Indian forces and said that the terrorist face of India has been exposed all over the world and International bodies, including the United Nations, should take stern and immediate notice against Indian atrocities.
