United Opposition calls for requisition for urgent assembly session


MUZAFFARABAD,(Parliament Times) : The United Opposition has submitted requisition for immediate assembly session on the latest situation in occupied Kashmir and the reprisals of the independent government. Opposition leader Ch Latif Akbar said that  The United Opposition has stated that the current situation in Occupied Kashmir is extremely worrying and that human rights are being violated. Chairman Human Rights Khurram Pervez’s arrest by Indian forces and vandalism in his office is reprehensible. Federal government immediately raised the Kashmir issue in international forums. Steps should be taken for his release. Apart from this, the opposition has also put the Liberation Cell on the agenda and demanded immediate restoration of Kashmir Center Karachi.

Apart from this, the issue of reprisals of independent government and increase in university fees has also been made part of the agenda. The opposition has taken the position that all these issues are of urgent nature. Therefore, a meeting of the Azad Kashmir Assembly should be convened immediately so that a solution can be found after the discussion. Besides, legislation on Bhushan Yadav, increase in women’s seats in Azad Kashmir and allocation of women’s seats in Kashmir Council are also part of the agenda.
