Dhaka : Pakistan players were left surprised as they were not handed over with any trophy by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after they won third T20I match against Bangladesh.
Pakistan on Monday defeated Bangladesh in third and last T20I by five wickets in Dhaka to complete a 3-0 clean sweep.
According to media reports, Pakistan players were surprised to know that they will be awarded with no winning trophy due to unknown reasons.
Later, media reports revealed that a spokesperson of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) told the management of the Pakistan team that they would hand over the trophy after the conclusion of the Test series.
The BCB further added that the head of the board was supposed to hand over the trophy to the Pakistani squad but it could not be done due to his unavailability.
The spokesperson said that officials of the board and sponsoring companies were not part of the biosecure bubble, therefore, the trophy awarding ceremony could not take place in line with the COVID-19 protocols.
