Brussels (Parliament Times): Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has condemned arrest of famous human right activist Khurram Parvez by the Indian security forces in Srinagar, the capital of occupied Kashmir.
The Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested the Chairman of Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances Khurram Parvez during a raid on his residence and his office in the Kashmiri capital city. It was reported by media that residence of Khurram at Sonwar was searched for many hours and the office at Amira Kadal was being searched since morning by the sleuths of NIA.
In a statement issued from Brussels Chairman of KC-EU Ali Raza Syed said that we strongly condemned detention of Khurram Parvez. Indian authorities must release him immediately.
He said that Khurram was engaged in identifying violations of human rights of the Kashmiri people for a long time but by using brutal and unethical methods, India attempts to cover the severe violations.
He emphasized that India can not cover the abuses of human rights in occupied Kashmir by inhuman acts and restrictions including arrest of human rights defenders such as detention Khurram Parvez.
He revealed that Indian forces are involved in crimes against humanity in the occupied land of Jammu and Kashmir and we will continued to uncover real dirty face of India involved in extra judicial murders of the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ali Raza Syed called upon human rights organizations of the world to come forward and pressurize Indian to release Khurram Parvez without any delay. International community should take notice of severe situation of human rights in occupied Kashmir, he asked.
It is important to mention that Khurram Parvz is award holders at international level for his struggle for human rights in occupied Kashmir. His close relative Parvez Imroz advocate is also human rights award holder from RAFTO foundation of Norway a few years ago.
Khurram Parvez and team of his organization so far published various reports on human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. Kashmir Council EU regularly dispatches their reports to different international bodies including U.N and European organizations including EU parliament. Khurram Parvez himself visited many countries including Belgium for raising the issue of human rights of people of occupied Kashmir. He participated in a conference organized by Kashmir Council EU at the European parliament few years ago.
