RAWALPINDI, (Parliament Times) : Punjab Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro has said that nations that forget their culture and history can never develop. The Punjab government is taking all possible steps to promote the culture of Punjab, according to Chief Minister Usman Bazar.
Talking on the occasion of his visit to Punjab Pavilion at Lok Virsa along with Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Muhammad Ali, Khayal Ahmed Castro said that Punjab government is trying to provide economic protection to artists and artisans along with promotion of culture and there is no shortage of funds for this purpose. The culture of the entire province has been beautifully and skillfully presented in the Punjab Pavilion of Folk Heritage. He said that people of Punjab are connected with their traditions and love their culture immensely. The provincial minister said that Pakistan’s culture has a prominent place in the world due to its color, proximity to nature and unpretentiousness. Director Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi Waqar Ahmed, Deputy Director Sajjad Hussain and Assistant Director Muhammad Suleman were also present on the occasion. Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed also wore the traditional turban of Punjab to Provincial Minister Khayal Ahmed Castro and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali on their arrival at the Punjab Pavilion. Khayal Ahmed Castro expressed special interest in the models of mansions to be built in the Punjab Pavilion, the art patterns on the stalls and the handicraft items.
On this occasion, traditional food of Punjab was also presented to the Provincial Minister and Deputy Commissioner.
