ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Since women are a vital part of Polio campaign as both frontline workers during door-to-door awareness and vaccine activities as well as primary caretakers of polio patients, it is important to educate women particularly young females about the disease of polio and its impact in Pakistan. This is why Rotary Club of Rawalpindi City organized a seminar titled “Role of Women in Eradication of Polio” at Government Degree College for Women, Dhamiyal Road. President of Rotary Club of Rwp City Mr. Waseem Riaz Malik, Club Secretary Mr. Syed Naeem Akhtar, Rtn. Shahid Anwar and other Rotarians graced the event with their presence. PDG Haji Iftikhar was invited as a Chief Guest.
The seminar highlighted the role of women in curbing polio around the globe. Participants made speeches on how young women can be effective in spreading the word in favour of vaccine and preparing next generations to fight this fatal disease.
