MIRPUR (AJK),(Parliament Times) : Seasoned Kashmiri intellectual – the writer, journalist, columnist, analyst, historian and expert on erstwhile internationally-acknowledged disputed Himalayan state of Jammu & Kashmir affairs and sitting Central Secretary Information PTI AJK has been appointed has been appointed as Director General Kashmir Liberation Cell In BPS ~20 In Azad Government Of The State Of Jammu & Kashmir.

Quoting the Official Notification Issued by the Kashmir Liberation Cell Secretariat in the State metropolis the KLC sources told our special AJK Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao on Thursday that the Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Cell / Prime Minister of Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir has been pleased to appoint Muhammad Irshad Mahmud s/o Sardar Mahmud Khan R/o Rawalakot (Poonch) AJK as Director General (BPS – 20) of Kashmir Liberation Cell, AJK government.

Ershad Mahmud is a keen follower of the Kashmir conflict, and has been actively involved in Track II diplomacy on Kashmir between India and Pakistan since 2001. A native of Rawalakot, Azad Jammu Kashmir, he was serving, by now, as Secretary Information, Azad-Kashmir, by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Based on his decades of observation of the Kashmir dispute, he attended series of national and international conferences on Kashmir issue both at home and abroad besides participating hundreds of talk shows on national and international electronic media.

Ershad Mahmud is also presently holding prestigious and key slot – as Executive Director of the world-fame Kashmiri think tank – Center for Peace, Development and Reforms (CPDR) which managed series of the intra-Kashmir summits of the diverse segments of the civil society from both sides of the line of control in the disputed Jammu & Kashmir State with prime focus to move ahead for emergence of ever-lasting peace in South Asia through the peaceful settlement of the much-delayed global issue of Kashmir.
